One does not need a reason to be happy. Happiness lies in existence. It lies in appreciation of the moment since each moment is unique and special in time. The uniqueness of each moment makes it beautiful.
Further, it lies in appreciation of what we have. Life in itself a gift to be appreciated.

I started meditating from a very young age. It was just in my lifestyle. Be it in Kolkata, Arya Samaj, or the weekly gathering of a yoga group. A lot of what i learnt is by attending the "Art of living" camp by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as a kid.
I usually meditate in 3 dimensions. It doesn't require me to focus. It only requires me to let go of reality or worldly illusion.
I meditate at any time, situation, body posture regardless of what's happening. When i do so, the world around me loses meaning. I suddenly have control of what's happening in the world. It's like a journey to a parallel universe.
What follows is an instant shuffling of memories, events and achievements. I gain control over what's illusion and what's reality. Since I'm still in 3 dimensions, All my achievements, bitter events and mishaps are reshuffled. All that's left are things i learnt and good memories.
The best thing is that all this happens in moments.
I meditate in 2 and 1 dimension during the weekends. It's like a vacation retreat. The definition of existence evolves everytime i go for that vacation.
I was taught this trick by a famous guru- Sri Sri Ravi Shankar when i was 5.
It's called guided transcendence meditation
Unfortunately, nowadays people aim to be high end apes who care nothing more than their own survival and well being in this world. I call these people "high end ape dreamers". Survival and mediocrity satisfy their primal needs as a life form, just like survival satisfied the needs of our ancestors-apes.
The typical American dream to be a millionaire, to have a well paid job, 2 kids, summerhouse, a Ferrari in the garage is a high end ape's dream. This dream is about one's survival and is too primitive for the 21st century.
Wealth is not a measure of success. Wealth is only a measure of how well you survive.
Success is about how much you care and impact the world around you.
You can be the financially richest person and still be the least successful.
You can be the financially poorest person on the planet and still be the most successful.
It's upto you. Dream like an ape or dream like a conscious and capable human.
I don't dream of being someone in the future.
I dream of what I want to do now and what will i do in the future.
As said in Gita, to do is more important than to be.
Even margaret thatcher once famously said" Its about doing, not being"
According to what i want to do, i become someone.
So i wake up everyday as a nobody and do something productive by becoming someone.
I don't like to be labelled or defined, it limits my horizons.
I am everybody as well as a nobody.
I'm a thinker, dreamer, doer and a strong follower of stoicism. I have a passion to learn and apply that to make the world a better place.
