A mediocre is a person who is satisfied with being average or someone, not interested in using his abilities and testing them to the limits.
A mediocre is someone
1. Who just works hard not smart
2. Who just works on skills and goals and not a vision
3. Who fails to think beyond himself/herself
4. Who has a fixed mindset
5. Who believes skills determine intelligence
6. Who is under the illusion that money and power are the only measures of success.
7. Who doesn't believe in himself
On the other hand, a person who isn't a mediocre is someone-
1. Who aims to impact others positively.
2. Who believes in working smarter and harder
2. Who believes personal philosophy and vision are more important than skills or goals
3. Who doesn't let his/her ego come in the way of learning.
4. Who measures success by his/her positive influence on future generations.
5. Who challenges the status quo.
6. most importantly, who aims to make the world a better place.
I believe life is more than just surviving, mastering skills, establishing a social status or minting money. It is about how much you care and your personal vision. Without the latter, you are nothing. A human has the ability to be and do much more. So why be a mediocre?
I believe in infinite knowledge,
I believe in infinite LIFE.
WHY I DONATE TO CAUSES?
Because, it affects the people I care about. I care about my family. The whole world is my family. My world consists of all living species. I cannot live with the guilt of abandoning others.
If you choose not to donate, you are not only abandoning your present blood and distant relatives but also your future loved ones.
Just because, your mother didn't get breast cancer doesn't imply your great grand-daughter won't.
Further, the value of your donation increases exponentially over time considering economy has only risen over time. A small investment made in the community now will have a significant impact in the future. If instead that investment is not made, the value of money is static of that time and the impact on society is none.
I try to imagine donating money as investing in stocks, except there is no risk involved. You are bound to make a big impact on the society over time and get value for your money. This impact will be truly appreciated by your great grandchildren.
So please DONATE TO EVERY CAUSE. It is just a matter of time before that cause affects you directly.
PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES
People behave differently with different people in different environments. One cannot know a person unless he has all his different personalities. People behave differently in front their children, parents, friends, co-workers and boss.
Sometimes, behavior is also a matter of an outlet, a reaction, or pure circumstance. People tend to say or do things they don't mean. One must remember that to forgive others.
I SEE THE WORLD AS A FAMILY.
I believe the whole world is a family. Many of us share same ancestors and sadly many don't care about each other until their blood relation is made clear. I cannot and will not abandon anybody that I meet in life. People make terrible mistakes, and am sure even you and I have made plenty.
I NEVER HATE A PERSON, I JUST DISAGREE WITH HIS/HER THOUGHTS
I'm a great fan of Gandhi and he too believed that we must not hate or kill for flaws we all possess. Some flaws are beautiful whilst some are ugly. Evil only lies in a person's thoughts. If we hate a person's idea we must make him aware and change his mindset or outlook on life.

LEARNING IS FUN
To me failure is important and to learn is fun. The more challenging it is, the more fun it is. There is nothing I don't want to learn. I fail to understand why people hate to learn calculus, programming or organic chemistry.
How can someone hate to learn? How can someone be satisfied with ignorance??
I'm happy as long as there is something to learn, there is an area to grow. This never ending road fascinates me. I love to challenge myself and compete with myself. I aim to break my own record everyday.
10,000 hours rule
I also follow what is called a 10,000 hour rule by Malcolm Gladwell rule. To learn more click here.
Further, I also believe the brain is like a muscle which requires exercise, and I have the ability to contribute more than Tesla, Edison or Marie Curie did in their respective fields. Intelligence is a skill that can be developed and is not static. Intelligence doesn't depend on age, power or wealth, it depends on your experience and how much you actually exercised it. I believe I can be much more, it's just a matter of time commitment. This mindset is also known as the growth mindset.
This mindset I so gladly adopted was also adopted like many others like Albert Einstein. He once quoted - "Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them".
I also follow metrics to evaluate my daily learning. These metrics help me evaluate how productive my day was. I never allow myself be thrown off rails and stick to my metrics no matter what. These metrics are based on the skills and habits I'm working on. I believe sticking to these metrics is essential for achieving bigger goals in life.
HOW I DEAL WITH SUCCESS
Most importantly, I treat and evaluate everyday individually, just because I was successful yesterday doesn't mean I can take a day off. I see my past achievements as records that I try to beat everyday. I never let my pride come in the way of my progress.
As someone rightly said-
" Past success is the biggest enemy of future success".
Born into a highly educated Indian family, I was asked the following questions repeatedly. So if you have the same questions, I hope my answers provide you some inspiration.
What is your drive in life? -Answers the next 3
What do you want to do?
Who do you want to be?
Why do you want to do that?
Although someone rightly quoted " life is a lesson, you learn when you're through", I'm confident that I have found my answers.

As an engineer, I'm trained to see and fix the flaws around me. There are good and bad flaws all around. Be it technological, philosophical, biological or political. When I open my eyes everyday, I wake up to those flaws. The question I then ask myself-
Should my children be born into a world where these flaws exist?
Depending on the urgency and severity of that flaw, I act. One thing I never do is to be complacent and be satisfied with the world around me. This is my way of making the world a better place.
Some people hesitate to change what they believe is natural or something that has been done for ages. I believe there is always a better way to do things. That said, I aim to make things as simple as possible not just simpler.
I'm a thinker, dreamer, doer and a strong follower of stoicism. I have a passion to learn and apply that to make the world a better place.
